Academic and Professional Career

Tata Institute of Fundamental Research: 

Early in his career, Prof. Sarma worked at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai, gaining research experience in advanced electronics and applied sciences.

National Institute of Technology, Warangal:

Prof. Sarma joined the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Regional Engineering College, Warangal (later renamed National Institute of Technology, Warangal).

Director, IIIT Tiruchirappalli:
Prof. N. V. S. N. Sarma later assumed charge as the Director of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Tiruchirappalli (IIIT T). As Director, he has been responsible for strengthening academic programs, research initiatives, industry collaboration, and institutional development at IIIT Tiruchirappalli, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Research and Academic Contributions:

Prof. Sarma's primary areas of research include:

• Electromagnetics
• Antenna and Microwave Engineering
• Adaptive Antenna Arrays
• Wireless and Sensor Networks
• Numerical Methods in Electromagnetics

He has authored and co authored numerous research papers published in international and national journals and conferences. He has supervised multiple Ph.D. and postgraduate research scholars and has served as a reviewer and expert for academic bodies and funding agencies.

Academic Leadership and Service:

In addition to teaching and research, Prof. Sarma has played a significant role in academic administration and policy implementation.
